Founder Story
As a middle school math teacher, I found myself struggling to reach the wide range of learners in my classroom each year because my students often lacked the foundational skills necessary to succeed in grade-level math.
After receiving my Master’s in Educational Technology (M.Ed.), I worked with many different schools and realized all math teachers shared the same challenge I had experienced: incoming students had been advanced to the next grade without learning the previous grade level foundational math skills. This is a BIG problem resulting in MANY students not on track to be successful in middle school math.
As an avid problem solver, I made it my mission to solve this one! In 2012, I developed MasterTrack, an online progress monitoring tool that makes it possible for teachers to easily track and respond to student performance on each foundational math skill—ensuring ALL students master their basic math skills by the end of the school year.
I’m thrilled to share that over the past ten years, participating schools have averaged 20% gains in math their first year of implementing MasterTrack—and our best-performing school to date saw a 60% improvement!
