Torrey (M.Ed. Educational Technology, B.S. Math Education, B.A. Mathematics/Statistics) has over thirty years of experience in K-8 math education. After teaching Middle School math for ten years, she received her Master’s in Education Technology and began her work as a consultant supporting schools with standards-based instruction. From curriculum mapping support, lesson design, assessments + progress monitoring, differentiation strategies, and technology integration – Torrey has been an integral part of supporting schools in improving and strengthening their K-8 math programs.
As a math teacher and consultant, Torrey discovered that teachers routinely face the same challenge—trying to support their students who are often missing various prerequisite foundational skills, making it difficult for students to reach their full potential in current grade level math. Torrey founded MasterTrack in 2012 to provide teachers and schools with a framework to ensure ALL students master previous grade level skills while still moving through grade level learning.
As the Founder of MasterTrack, Torrey tirelessly works to continue to develop and grow the MasterTrack program to ensure that it meets the needs of every school and educator we serve. She oversees all aspects of our work and is passionate about MasterTrack’s commitment to accelerating every student’s K-8 math learning recovery so that all students are positioned for success in elementary math and beyond.
Torrey brings extensive experience and depth of knowledge in K-8 math education to her work. She is driven by the success our MasterTrack schools experience in supporting all students in reaching their full potential. Positioning students for success in elementary math and beyond is her guiding principle as she leads the MasterTrack team.
Anne-Marie (M.Ed. Instructional Leadership, B.A. Humanities) developed a passion for elementary math while teaching and coaching for more than 15 years in San Francisco Bay Area public schools. She has worked mostly in intermediate grades, including multi-grade classrooms and core math/science teaching assignments. She studied Math Instructional Coaching with the Silicon Valley Math Institute, US Department of Education’s Teach to Lead Summit, and the Reach Institute for School Leadership.
Some of Anne-Marie's most satisfying school years were spent mentoring student teachers and coaching fellow elementary educators with 1-30 years of experience. Her master’s action research and field work focused on coaching teachers to foster productive, collaborative math discourse and activities among students. In her own classroom, she found great success turning around students with math anxiety by integrating writing, art, science, and games into the mathematics curriculum to keep her kids (and herself!) engaged and motivated to learn.
In her role as Math Instructional Coach, Anne-Marie collaborates with individual teachers, grade level teams, and grade span teams at MasterTrack schools to plan instruction that will help students recoup unfinished learning and help teachers meet the varying needs of their diverse learners.
Maria Radtke has spent 17 years in education as both a homeroom teacher and as a math resource specialist for grades K-6. Her degrees include a BA in History, a Master of Education in Reading and Literacy, and a Master of Arts in Math Education K-6, as well as teaching certificate in Washington state. She uses her knowledge of reading and writing and applies those directly in the math classroom to help students better communicate their thinking.
Maria’s daily work involves supporting teachers with instructional strategies and curriculum planning, as well as working with students in small learning groups. During her time as a math teacher, Maria has implemented standards-based math assessments, helped further develop the math component within STEM instruction and led professional development on best practices in her school community.
Maria has used MasterTrack to track individual student progress for over 10 years and loves to help other teachers implement MasterTrack in their classrooms and schools.
Darci brings with her over thirteen years of experience working with teachers and students in elementary math. During this time, she has worked directly with elementary students in math and has supported teachers implement MasterTrack in the classroom.
As School Coordinator, Darci supports teachers with all aspects of elementary math learning recovery work - from identifying and sharing helpful classroom resources, to identifying learning goals and supporting teachers to implement small group instruction.
Darci has worked with Torrey supporting schools with K-8 math instruction for eleven years and has been with MasterTrack since its inception. Her kind, supportive demeanor along with her steady approach and years of experience working with students in elementary math make her an indispensable part of the MasterTrack team.
Britta Bowman has over 18 years of experience working in and with K-8 schools. She started as a parent volunteer when her daughter was in kindergarten and since then, has held various PTA leadership positions and spent many years tutoring elementary students in math. Prior to joining the MasterTrack team, Britta was the registrar/administrative secretary at Salmon Bay K-8 school for six years.
Working with students, staff and school communities brings much joy to Britta these past 18 years. She strongly believes in supporting all students in their educational and social/emotional needs and goals. When not helping our MasterTrack schools, Britta spends time hiking in the PNW, gardening, reading, knitting and road tripping.
As program manager, Britta ensures all our schools have a successful implementation of MasterTrack.
